So far in 2023, BYD has sold a total of 2.683.374 electrified vehicles, positioning itself to reach the incredible goal of 3 million by the end of December.

In a surprising development in the automotive industry, the BYD, renowned Chinese manufacturer, has surpassed Nissan in sales, marking a significant milestone with a new rsales record de electric vehicles (EV). 

Last November, BYD delivered more than 300.000 units of eletric cars and plug-in hybrids, consolidating its position as a leader in the global market. With growth of 31% compared to the same period last year, BYD demonstrated its dominance in the electrified vehicles.

 This historic feat not only highlights BYD's solid position in the market, but also reveals a clear trend: electric cars (EV) are gaining ground, surpassing plug-in hybrids (PHEV).

The BYD Dolphin, the best-selling electric car in Brazil: 

According to data revealed by BYD, sales of electric cars reached an impressive 170.150 units last month, while plug-in hybrids saw a slight drop of 3,22%, totaling 131.228 units. These numbers reinforce the idea that consumer preference is leaning towards pure electric vehicles.

So far in 2023, BYD has sold a total of 2.683.374 electrified vehicles, positioning itself to achieve the incredible goal of 3 million by the end of December. The current sales ratio shows 43,47% for PHEVs and 56,36% for BEVs, highlighting the growing popularity of all-electric cars.

The brand's best sellers

When analyzing the best-selling models, the Seagull, Dolphin and Seal, the latter available in both BEV and PHEV versions. With impressive numbers of 44.603, 35.246 and 19.860 units respectively, these models have contributed significantly to BYD's success.

It is important to highlight that this feat is not limited to the Chinese domestic market. BYD managed to consolidate its international presence, leading sales of electric cars in countries such as Thailand, Colombia and Brazil. In the Brazilian market, the Dolphin maintained its position as the best-selling electric car for several consecutive months.

BYD Surpasses Nissan: A New Era in the Electric Automotive Industry

With this phenomenal growth, BYD it surpassed Nissan for the first time in global sales. Despite growth of 5% compared to the previous year, the Japanese automaker was unable to maintain its position in the face of the rise BYD's unstoppable. This shift in market dynamics suggests a significant transformation in consumer preferences across the world.

Consolidated in China, BYD is accelerating its international expansion, supported by the strength of its electric vehicles. Furthermore, the company has ambitious plans for the development of new technologies and the installation of a complex for the production of electric vehicles and batteries in Camaçari (BA), Brazil.
