BYD's new launch is about to arrive in Brazil, expected to arrive in March. The model, known in China as Seagull, will be called BYD Dolphin Mini here and in other Latin American countries. The information was confirmed by Jorge Moraes, in his column on the UOL portal, which released the launch schedule for the brand's most affordable electric vehicle.
O BYD Dolphin Mini, based on the Ocean line and belonging to the family that includes the Dolphin and Seal models, will initially be imported from China to Brazil. However, there are plans for local production at the Camaçari (BA) factory, where the production of the Dolphin, Song Plus and Yuan Plus models has already been confirmed. The expansion of production reinforces BYD's commitment to the Brazilian and Latin American market.

The Dolphin Mini, which is BYD's smallest model, measures 3,78 meters in length (surpassing a Renault Kwid by 10 cm), 1,71 meters in width, 1,54 meters in height and has a wheelbase of 2,50 .3 meters (20 cm less than a Hyundai HBXNUMX).

Despite the lack of confirmation from BYD regarding the battery option and autonomy of the compact in Brazil, it is estimated that the starting price of the car will be around R$100, which will certainly boost the entry-level electric car segment, impacting models such as Renault Kwid E-Tech and JAC e-JS1.
