Grupo Caoa will invest R$3 billion in modernizing the Anápolis factory, expanding assembly lines and introducing new models.
By ending legal disputes with Hyundai, the Caoa Group is making significant changes to its factory located in Anápolis, Goiás. The main objective of these changes is to expand the operations of the Caoa Chery brand and begin production of new Hyundai models. The expansion includes the installation of new machines and advanced technologies, with the acquisition of 200 robots previously owned by Ford. These robots were purchased from the Camaçari factory, in Bahia, which is now controlled by the Chinese BYD.
History and current affairs of the Caoa Group factory
Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade Filho, president of Grupo Caoa, expressed optimism about the future of the partnership with Hyundai.
“If it works well for us and for them, the partnership tends to continue”, said Andrade Filho. The company is focused on modernizing the factory in Goiás, which will benefit from an investment of R$3 billion until 2028.

The construction of the factory of Anápolis began in 2004. In 2013, the unit marked an important milestone by surpassing the volume of imports of vehicles assembled in Brazil, with all national models being from the Hyundai brand at the time.
Currently, the Anápolis factory employs around 6.000 people and is completely Brazilian. This contrasts with the unit in Jacareí, in the interior of São Paulo, where 50% of the property belongs to Chery, a Chinese company.
The Jacareí factory is currently closed and there are plans for its sale. There is also the possibility that the unit will produce models from the Omoda and Jaecoo brands, which are part of Chery's portfolio.
New models and technologies
With the expansion of factory, Grupo Caoa is launching the Tiggo 8 Pro, the first product of this new phase.
This model features a renewed design and significant mechanical improvements.
The suggested price for the 2025 line is R$188.888,88, a competitive price in the seven-seater SUV segment.
The Tiggo 8 Pro is designed to compete with other SUVs on the market, such as the Jeep Commander, which has a starting price of R$244.990 in the same seating configuration.
The Caoa Chery model is equipped with a 1.6 turbo gasoline engine, which delivers 187 hp.
This engine has a new lubrication system, with the oil filter repositioned to facilitate changes, as well as a more rigid block with a lower noise level.
Improvements in design and comfort
As improvements on the Tiggo 8 Pro they include an increase in the size of the wheels, which went from 18 to 19 inches.
This change required an update to the suspension geometry to maintain comfort while driving.
Furthermore, the vehicle has a 24-inch curved panel that integrates the instrument panel and the multimedia center.
The steering wheel has also been redesigned, and the sound system, supplied by Sony, includes eight speakers.
The Tiggo 8 Pro comes with a comprehensive list of standard features, such as six airbags, lane sensors, automatic emergency braking, electric front seat adjustments and interior lighting with LEDs.
