Even with its factory in Jacareí, in São Paulo, recently closed, Caoa Chery intends to use it to bring more electric cars to Brazil

Car manufacturer Caoa Chery still has plans for its plant in Jacareí, in the Paraíba Valley, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. Even recently closed, the São Paulo plant, which produced the Tiggo 3X Pro and the Arrizo 6 Pro, should house more electric car models from the Chinese-Brazilian automaker in the future.

This information was given by the main executive of Caoa Chery, Mauro Correia, to colleagues from Automotive Business. He comments that the factory in Jacareí, in São Paulo, was modernized in 2018 to receive electric car production kits, but some changes will need to be made to expand the company's production line.

Also, the automaker has just launched a complete line of electric cars in Brazil, some of which will be produced at the factory in Anápolis, Goiás, since the factory in Jacareí, in São Paulo, was recently closed. Only one of the cars will be imported, the Caoa Chery iCar, the vehicle electric cheapest in Brazil nowadays and main rival of models like the Renault Kwid E-Tech and JAC E-JS1.

The executive, however, did not give deadlines for when Caoa Chery will expand its line of cars in Brazil and in the city of Jacareí, in the state of São Paulo. What is most certain is that, before returning to manufacturing cars in Jacareí, the Chinese automaker, separately from Caoa, will start selling Exeed models, its brand of luxury vehicles here.

Oil companies consider charging charging electric cars at gas stations

Companies are starting to focus on opportunities to generate revenue from charging electric cars at gas stations. The aim is to provide ultra-fast or fast charging for those who have electric cars.

In general, it is possible to recharge carros electric in about 20 minutes. Among the various companies is Shell, which plans to install 35 charging stations at gas stations in Brazil by the end of next year. Another major brand in the sector, Petrobras, plans to build at least 70 electric car charging points by the end of next year.

In the case of Petrobras, the novelty arrived in July this year. Vibra, licensed company of the brand, inaugurated the first charging station. On site, there are three charging points and, according to the company, the plugs have CCS-2 standards, CHAdeMO, an abbreviation of CHArge de MOve, equivalent to Cargo Movement, and also a Type 2 connector.

The charging point was built at the Petrobras Arco-Íris station, which is located in the city of Roseira, in São Paulo, on Via Dutra. In this way, electric car owners will have this facility to get to Rio de Janeiro through the charging points at gas stations.

In principle, customers can recharge their vehicle completely free of charge. Those who are registered in the Premmia program still accumulate ten times more points.
