Developed based on the second-generation Fiat Uno, the Fiat Mobi marked Fiat's entry into the competitive subcompact segment in Brazil. Launched as an economical and practical alternative for urban centers, the Mobi stood out for its compact size, low maintenance costs and fuel efficiency. Now, in its used version, the Fiat Mobi has consolidated itself as one of the most sought-after popular cars in the Brazilian market, especially because it features the reliable Uno engine, known for its durability and performance.

Fiat car promises to do up to 15,2 km/l on the road

With a wheelbase of just 2,30 meters, a length of 3,56 meters, a width of 1,63 meters and a trunk of 215 liters, the used Fiat Mobi is far from being a family proposition. The model was approved for five people, but the discomfort will make those in the back seat hope for a quick trip.

The 1-liter, four-cylinder Fire engine of the Fiat popular car with the UNO engine is capable of traveling 11 km/l of gasoline in the city and 15,2 km/l on the highway, however, it develops 75/73 horsepower at 6.250 RPM, just enough breath to pack the approximately 900 kg of the basic versionthe Easy, without air conditioning and without power steering.

To ensure a minimum level of comfort in your Fiat car, opt for the Like version, the most successful precisely because it comes as standard with air conditioning, power steering, defroster, key with remote control, fabric finish in the trunk, electric locks and windows and a height-adjustable steering wheel.

What is the best version of the used Fiat Mobi to buy in 2024?

The most complete units of Fiat's popular car with the UNO engine come with the Tech Kit, which includes an alarm, multifunctional steering wheel, Connect radio integrated into the dashboard with Bluetooth, USB and audio streaming function. More sophisticated, the Like On version comes with 14-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, glasses holder and rear parking sensor.

Those looking for an even more rational mechanical set should opt for the Drive version of the Fiat car, which was offered from 2017 to 2020 with the three-cylinder Firefly engine, which runs further and drinks less. The torque is 10,9 kgfm, with ethanol and 10,4 kgfm with gasoline at 3.250 RPM. The power is around 77 horsepower with ethanol and 72 hp with gasoline.

The Drive version also brings three improvements: electric power steering, Live On sound system and the option of the GSR automated gearbox.

This is an evolution of the old Dualogic: five gears, button operation and the option to change gears using paddles installed behind the steering wheel of the used Fiat Mobi. It leaves something to be desired due to its jerks and slowness, but it pleases with its convenience and averages of 14,9 km/l in the city and 18,6 km/l on the highway (gasoline).

What to look for when buying a used Fiat Mobi?

One of the first things to note about a Fiat popular car with a UNO engine is the GSR transmission, which, despite ensuring good fuel consumption, is slow, indecisive and jerky. If you are in doubt about the condition of the transmission, give up on the deal; both simple reprogramming and component replacement require specialized labor.

The Fiat Fire engine does not have direct fuel injection, but it often presents valve sealing failures due to excessive decarbonization in the valve seats. Carbon is formed by lubricating oil and fuel that are not burned during the combustion phase.

There were several recalls over the years of production, involving the turn signal control software, ignition coil, ignition relay, steering column, brake switch electrical circuit, among others.

I had two Fiat Unos with Fire engines, no problem and they did 17 km/liter on the highway.

And that's a lie, the Mobi will never be the same as the Uno, the Mobi is a weak car, I bought a new one, it had a problem with the engine and it blew up, at 36.000km, I saw another new one catching fire... in short, it will never have a Uno engine.

Good afternoon, I find it strange to merge, I have a 2019 with 110.000 km and I have traveled everywhere without problems, this week here in Rodeio SC Brazil it did 15,5 inside and outside the city on average. Now I am planning a trip to Ushuaia, Argentina, back and forth.

So... believe it or not, there's the super national tax for Brazilians, which will increase the price to 90 to 100 thousand.

Why would I want to know what was released in another country? Waste of time…

A 1.0 car, even a 3-cylinder car, has already been proven to be a real pain in the ass!
