The official announcement will take place on May 10, with the presence of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, who will be in the state of Ceará on the occasion.

The initiative aims to transport H2V produced in Ceará lands directly to Europe, with Holland as the main gateway.

The route is being planned since the huge increase in demand for green hydrogen around the world, with the Port of Pecem It is seen as one of the ports with the greatest potential for attracting investment and ventures related to the new fuel. Rotterdam, in turn, is considered the main gateway to all of Europe.

The president of Complexo do Pecém, Hugo Figueirêdo, highlighted the importance of the partnership and the importance of the port for the supply of green hydrogen in Europe through the Port of Rotterdam.

Mark Rutte will arrive in Ceará on May 9, with a visit to Pecem Complex scheduled for the following day. Currently, Ceará already has 24 memorandums of understanding related to H2V signed between investors and the state government.

Three of these developments already have sealed pre-contracts and a reserved area in the Export Processing Zone of Ceará for the installation of factories: Fortescue, Casa dos Ventos and AES. It is estimated that the amount of investment in these three projects alone is around US$ 8 billion. O Port of Pecem it should also invest R$ 2,2 billion to provide the terminal with infrastructure capable of housing the projects.

As informed by Figueirêdo, he will be in Holland on the day of the event, while Governor Elmano de Freitas (PT) should receive the Prime Minister.

The launch of the Green Hydrogen Corridor still raises the expectation of signing new protocols.

The launch ceremony will be held during the World Hydrogen Summit, which should bring together eight thousand decision makers, energy ministers, CEOs and representatives from more than 100 countries at the Rotterdam Ahoy, between the 9th and 11th of May.

Figueirêdo points out that the visit of the Prime Minister of the Netherlands it is a clear signal of the European market demand for green hydrogen. The Netherlands and Germany have already committed government funds to stimulate demand for the fuel in their respective countries and to facilitate and favor exports from Brazil.

The president of the Pecem Complex also points out the partnership with Rotterdam as essential for the creation of this corridor. In 2018, the Ceará government negotiated with the Dutch government for the assignment of 30% of the Port of Pecém, in order to expand Ceará's exports to Europe of various products. The Port of Rotterdam invested €7,5 billion in the Ceará terminal, which gave it the right to hold positions on the Executive Board, Audit Board and Board of Directors.
