The new tractor factory in Ceará will be built by the Belarus Minsk Tractor Works (MTW) factory and will generate several jobs on site
A new tractor factory will be installed in the state of Ceará, more precisely in the city of Baturité. The State Government and the company Maquigeral Energia Indústria Comércio Maquinas LTDA (Maquigeral) signed a protocol of intentions this Monday, the 17th, for the implementation of this unit.
The installation of the tractor factory in Ceará brings with it the promise of generating significant jobs for the region. The multinational responsible for the project in Ceará committed to create at least 400 direct jobs, 100 of these jobs in the initial phase within a period of up to 12 months, and another 300 jobs during the expansion phase within a period of up to 36 months after the installation of the factory. The total investment for the realization of this project in Ceará will be R$ 285 million.
To fill these vacancies, the workforce will be recruited through the Public Employment System (Sine) in partnership with the Labor Development Institute (IDT). This partnership aims to ensure that workers in Ceará have access to job opportunities generated by the new factory, contributing to the economic and social development of the region.

The tractors that will be produced in the factory
One of the highlights is the production of the tractors that will be manufactured. The models to be assembled at the Baturité plant are known in Eastern Europe. Maquigeral commercializes the units from Belarus Minsk Tractor Works (MTW), using the name Maq Tractor and implementing Scania engines instead of Belarus. In addition, Russian Rostselmash harvesters and Russian Kirovets super-heavy tanks will also be assembled.
It is believed that the vehicles will be assembled with parts imported from abroad. The installation of a tractor factory in Ceará is an old dream, and in 2016, the former Secretary of International Affairs, Antônio Balhmann, visited the Belarus MTW tractor factory. Belarus is known for producing light and heavy vehicles and also exports to Latin America. At the time of the visit, MTW did not trade with Brazil.
In Venezuela, MTW had an industrial plant that was closing its activities. The focus of the State of Ceará was to attract this unit to the Export Processing Zone (ZPE).
With the installation of this tractor factory, Ceará strengthens its economy and generates new opportunities employment for the region. The initiative represents an important step forward for the local industry and demonstrates the state's strategic vision of attracting investment and diversifying its productive sector.
