The design of the cheap Subaru Forester S SUV is impressive even today

This 4×4 SUV was a rival to big names like SantaFE, CR-V, Tucson and many other mid-size SUVs in Brazil. It is interesting because even though it is a cheap 4×4 SUV, it is not that big.

In terms of measurements, it measures 4.595 mm in length, 1.795 mm in width, 1.735 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2.640 mm. The Subaru Forester S also has 22 cm of ground clearance, making it higher than the Tucson, which only measures 20 cm. On the sides, it has 18-inch wheels and already has ABS brakes on all four wheels.

At the front, the headlights of the Cheap 4×4 SUV already have an LED strip, double parabola, a redesigned grille and a 25-degree entry angle. Weighing 1472 kg and capable of carrying a payload of 508 kg, the trunk can hold up to 505 liters, which is very interesting for a car of this size and the fuel tank can carry up to 60 liters.

Inside, the cheap SUV, even for its time, already had ISOFIX, three-point seatbelts and headrests for all passengers and much more. Despite the simple finish with hard plastic, it manages to be well made.

Subaru Forester S gets up to 14 km per liter

The cheap SUV can deliver up to 150 horsepower at 6.200 RPM, maximum torque of 20,2 kgfm at 4.200 RPM with permanent all-wheel drive associated with a 6-speed CVT gearbox. The Subaru Forester S does not leave anything to be desired in terms of performance, reaching a top speed of 192 km/h and achieving a acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11,8 s.

In terms of consumption, the cheap 4×4 SUV delivers good numbers, achieving 10 km/l in urban areas and 14,4 km/l on highways. The autonomy is around 600 km and 864 km respectively.

In terms of safety, the cheap SUV offers ABS brakes, side airbags, perimeter anti-theft alarm, stability control, hill start assist, front airbags, curtain airbags, volumetric anti-theft alarm, traction control, central door locking, automatic hill descent control, rear parking sensors, among others.

How much does a Subaru SUV cost on the used market?

The list of equipment on the cheap 4×4 SUV is huge for the time, among some of the many items are: Air conditioning, power steering, driver's armrest, height-adjustable steering wheel, height-adjustable seat belts, automatic speed control, automatic windshield wiper, rear window control, alloy wheels, trunk light, height-adjustable driver's seat, automatic transmission, depth-adjustable steering wheel, leather-upholstered seats, start-stop system, split rear seat and much more.

In Infotainment we have Radio, USB Connection, Rev Counter, CD Player, Bluetooth Connection, On-board Computer and external temperature indicator.

In terms of values, in the main sales platforms in Brazil, it is possible to find the cheap SUV for up to R$45 thousand, however it is important to pay attention to the condition, documents and other information, since, although it is cheap, misuse by the owner can harm the vehicle's functioning.
