Companies request concession to build railroads in 12 stretches of Mato Grosso

Six companies requested the Ministry of Infrastructure to build railways in Mato Grosso; three of the requests are in the final analysis phase

The Ministry of Infrastructure (MInfra) received requests from 6 companies to authorize the construction of railways in 12 stretches of the state of Mato Grosso, through the Pró-Trilhos program; the survey was carried out by MidiaNews this week. Of these requests, three are already in the final stage of analysis, that is, at the time of signing the adhesion contract and authorization of the application and the investments proposed by the companies for the railways are billionaires.

The company that requested the most authorizations for building railways in Mato Grosso was Rumo SA, a company that already operates the railway corridor that connects Rondonópolis (MT) to the Port of Santos (SP) through federal concessions (Malha Norte and Malha Paulista), and that intends to build the state railway that will connect Rondonópolis to Cuiabá and Lucas do Rio Verde.

The company applied to MInfra for the construction of six railways in Mato Grosso, in these stretches: Água Boa to Lucas do Rio Verde; Ribeirão Cascalheira to Figueirópolis (TO); Bom Jesus do Araguaia to Água Boa; Primavera do Leste to Ribeirão Cascalheira; Santa Rita do Trivelato a Sinop; Nova Mutum to Campo Novo do Parecis.

With all these works, the investment made by Rumo is estimated at more than R$ 20,4 billion. The requirements for the stretches from Água Boa to Lucas and from Bom Jesus do Araguaia to Água Boa are already being signed.

Other companies hoping to build railroads in Mato Grosso

The second company that placed more orders for the construction of railroads in Mato Grosso was Zion Real Estate, which is requesting authorization to build railroads that will connect Lucas do Rio Verde to Sinop; and Sinop to Moraes Almeida (PA). The company's investment estimate is that the two works add up to R$ 8,79 billion in costs.

The first company to request the request to build railroads along the stretch that connects Água Boa to Lucas do Rio Verde was VLI Multimodal SA The work for the state of Mato Grosso is estimated at R$ 5,08 billion and the request is also in the final authorization phase.

For the stretch between Lucas do Rio Verde and Sinop, Garin Infraestrutura, Assessoria e Participações Ltda. requested authorization to build a railroad valued at R$ 1,47 billion.

The company Rail-In Engenharia Eirelli, on the other hand, requested authorization to build and operate the railroads in the stretch that connects Água Boa to Lucas do Rio Verde, with an investment forecast of R$ 6,35 billion.

Finally, the last stretch required from MInfra was requested by the company Euca Energy Administração e Participações SA, which is trying to make a 30 km stretch of railways in the municipality of Alto Araguaia viable, with an estimated investment of R$ 300 million.
