The municipality of Ouro Branco is now looking for new opportunities for partnerships to expand the mining industry in the mining region and met with the mining company CSN to discuss the viability of projects aimed at the environment and professional training in the sector.
The mining CSN met with the city hall of Ouro Branco, located in the state of Minas Gerais, last Thursday (23/06), to discuss possible projects in the mining sector. Thus, the city hall is now looking for more professional training, partnerships in the environment segment and, mainly, new techniques to guarantee even more efficiency in the process of mineral exploration in the region.

The state of Minas Gerais is a national leader in mineral exploration and continues to expand its presence in the country in the mining sector, with international companies in the region, such as CSN Mineração. The company has been seeking to ensure even more relevance in the state and, recently, met with the Ouro Branco city hall, a municipality located in the Minas Gerais region, to discuss possible future collaborations in the mineral sector, as a way of mutual improvement in partnerships.
Thus, last Thursday, there was a meeting between the mayor of Ouro Branco, Hélio Campos (PSDB), and the secretary of Environment and Sustainable Development, Neylor Aarão, who held a meeting with representatives of CSN Eduardo Sanches, General Manager for Sustainability at the company, and Otto Levy Reis, Former Secretary of Planning for the state of Minas Gerais, who is currently the director of Planning and Expansion for the CSN Group.

The meeting took place in the office of Mayor Helio Campos and served as a gateway to new future partnerships. In this way, the representatives of the company CSN and the city of Ouro Branco presented their projections for future growth in the mining sector and, together, discussed the possibility of partnerships in the region.
The main focus of the municipal government of Minas Gerais is to use CSN's knowledge and experience to promote projects focused on the environment, professional training and, mainly, new alternatives and techniques that can contribute to mining in the region. For this, the company could become a future partner with enterprises based in the city of Ouro Branco.
Future meetings on mining projects with CSN will be held during the Economic Development Week in Ouro Branco
In addition to the Ouro Branco city hall having shared the prospects for economic growth through mining projects in the region, CSN representatives stated that the company is now seeking to expand its business presence in the state of Minas Gerais and would be interested in the municipality. In this way, the conjuncture of both parties in a possible policy of cooperation future would bring long-term benefits to the socioeconomic growth of the state and new business directions for the mining company.
And, for the continuation of discussions on environmental projects and professional training in mining, new meetings will be held with CSN. They will take place during the Economic Development Week, which takes place in Ouro Branco from the 26th to the 29th of July.
Thus, the event will also seek to promote business in the municipality of Ouro Branco and revive the economy affected by the pandemic, through professional qualification and attraction of new investments to the city.
CSN is a national leader in the steel industry and one of the largest companies in the mining sector, operating throughout the Brazilian scenario and, now, intends to make the possibility of new projects in Ouro Branco a future bet for the state of Minas Gerais.
