After the company APM Terminals stated that it would not be interested in continuing operations in Operational Area A of the Port of Itajaí, the company CTIL Logística participated in the selection process for the provisional lease of the structure and won the stage.

During the last Tuesday, (23/08), the company of operations and port administration CTIL Logística was recognized as the big winner in the selection process for the provisional lease of Operational Area A at the Port of Itajaí, located in the state of Santa Catarina. The news of the victory in the event was released after the runner-up in the process, Power Log, announced that it would not be interested in covering CTIL Logística's proposal.

Selection process for the provisional lease of Operational Area A at the Port of Itajaí is finalized with victory for the company CTIL Logística

The provisional leasing of Operational Area A at the Port of Itajaí had another one of its stages successfully completed, the selection process for proposals from companies interested in investing in the complex in Santa Catarina.

Recently, the port company CTIL Logística was recognized as the great winner of the process, thus advancing in the search for privatization of the port over the next few years, as planned by the Federal Government.

The announcement of the victory of the port logistics company was made this past Tuesday, after the company Power Log, second place in the event, officially manifested its lack of interest in covering the proposal of the first place.

In the selection process for the lease of Operational Area A, CTIL Logística made a proposal of BRL 48,60 per square meter, totaling BRL 4.006.896,01 for the provisional acquisition of the area. Soon after, Power Log offered R$ 46,50 per square meter, totaling R$ 3.833.758,53, while the third place, Container's Service, made a proposal of R$ 26,00 per square meter, totaling BRL 2.147.606,92.

Now that the company CTIL Logística has managed to win the initial selection process for the provisional lease, it will have a total of five days to send all the documentation and other requirements necessary for its qualification in the process.

Once this is done, the Port of Itajaí will carry out the analysis and the final proposal of the company, thus forwarding the provisional leasing process to the National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq). Antaq will then have a total of 30 days to evaluate the lease for Operational Area A.

Interim lease of Operational Area A in the Port Complex was necessary after APM Terminals failed to maintain its operations

The selection process for carrying out a provisional lease in Operational Area A of the Port of Itajaí is an obligation of the government of the municipality of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina. This, because the company APM Terminals had confirmed that it would not continue with its investments and its administration in the area of the complex, thus requiring a new company to carry out these activities.

The final contract for the lease of Operational Area A in the Santa Catarina complex will have a total validity period of six months, extendable for up to two years, starting in January 2023, stipulated in the extension of the port authority to the municipality of Itajaí.

However, it could also be finalized if the Federal Government finalizes its bidding process for the complete privatization of the Port of Itajaí.

Now, CTIL Logística must forward all the necessary documentation to the Port of Itajaí and wait for the next steps of the selection process to finalize its provisional lease in the coming months, thus advancing in investments aimed at the complex in Santa Catarina.
