Investments will be made in digitization projects and in 40 load lifting equipment such as bridge cranes, gantry cranes and hoists at the plants.
The first project to be carried out will be the digitization of Sobradinho, where R$ 260 million will be invested. The contract was already signed in April and will start this July and will last for 7 years.

The next project will be the modernization of the Paulo Afonso IV hydroelectric plant. At the moment, the project is in the contracting phase and is budgeted at more than R$ 600 million.
Companhia Hidrelétrica do São Francisco (Chesf) is a publicly-held corporation that operates in the generation and transmission of high and extra-high voltage energy, exploring the hydrographic basin of the São Francisco River, headquartered in Recife.
According to Chesf, other similar investments are planned for the coming years, at the facilities in Itaparica (PE), Xingó (AL/SE) and Apolônio Sales (AL).
Two hydroelectric plants in Tocantins are considered the best in Brazil by ANEEL
The first and second places this time went to the Peixe Angical and Lajeado plants, respectively, both located in the state of Tocantins.
Last year, the best hydroelectric plant was also owned by the EDP group. UHE Lajeado was chosen at the time.
Aneel evaluated 148 power generation plants in two distinct stages, between December 2019 and April 2020. UHE Peixe Angical, located in Tocantins, was evaluated with a score of 99,40 in the overall ranking, with maximum scores in five of the six topics listed: environment, safety, operation management, maintenance management and operation and maintenance.
The second-placed plant, UHE Lajeado, also located in Tocantins, received top marks in four of them.
Together, the evaluated hydroelectric plants are responsible for the production of 93.327,35 MW, approximately 54% of the national generation capacity.
