Two hydroelectric plants in Tocantins are considered the best in Brazil by ANEEL

The first and second places this time went to the Peixe Angical and Lajeado plants, respectively, both located in the state of Tocantins.

Last year, the best hydroelectric plant was also owned by the EDP group. UHE Lajeado was chosen at the time.

Aneel evaluated 148 power generation plants in two distinct stages, between December 2019 and April 2020. UHE Peixe Angical, located in Tocantins, was evaluated with a score of 99,40 in the overall ranking, with maximum scores in five of the six topics listed: environment, safety, operation management, maintenance management and operation and maintenance.

The second-placed plant, UHE Lajeado, also located in Tocantins, received top marks in four of them.
Together, the evaluated hydroelectric plants are responsible for the production of 93.327,35 MW, approximately 54% of the national generation capacity.
