A new competition from the Department of Education (SEDU ES) will be launched soon. The process already has the organizing committee defined, and the signing of the contract is expected to take place in the next few days.
The new competition from the Secretariat of Education of the state of Espírito Santo (SEDU ES) already has a defined organizing committee. The choice was the Carlos Chagas Foundation (FCC), according to a document published last Thursday (15), on the Federal Government's National Public Procurement Portal. With this, the next step for the SEDU ES competition is the signing of the contract, which should take place in the next few days. Only then can the precise start date of the selection be confirmed.
List of positions that will be offered in the Department of Education Competition from ES
In total, the SEDU competition will have a total of 1.290 vacancies, with 290 vacancies for positions requiring secondary education and 1.000 for higher education, a quantity higher than initially announced, which would be 800 vacancies.
In the case of secondary education, all vacancies will be for the position of educational support agent, with salaries reaching R$ 2.661,13, with 40-hour working week. For higher education, the distribution of positions is as follows:

- Teacher B – 940 vacancies
- Teacher P pedagogue – 60 vacancies
In the case of teacher B, the opportunities are in the following areas:

For higher education, the initial courses will be as follows, with a 25-hour work week:
- With postgraduate studies – R$ 3.429,24;
- Without specialization – R$ 3.265,94;
- With a doctorate – R$6.018,32;
- With a master’s degree – R$4.458,01.
Exams for the Department of Education Competition
The registration fees for the SEDU ES competition have already been defined and will be R$70 for secondary education and R$85 for higher education. It is worth mentioning that the competition is foreseen in the 2024 state budget and will be used to replace temporarily hired personnel.
The selection will include stages such as objective tests, essay tests and analysis of titles for higher-level positions. The objective test for the Department of Education competition will have 60 questions, 25 questions on basic knowledge and 35 questions on specific knowledge.
The basic knowledge part will cover Portuguese language subjects, use of technologies in education, pedagogical knowledge – curriculum and assessment, learning psychology and basic computing.
For educational support agents, the specific knowledge part will be about Child and Adolescent Statute, Notions of the Constitution of the Republic, Writing of Documents, Notions of State Complementary Law No. 46/1994, notions of mathematics, notions of human relations, Logical Reasoning, among others. The discursive part for higher education will consist of a case study on the application of didactic procedures, based on the basic education curriculum.
How was the last SEDU ES competition?
The last competition by the Department of Education took place in 2022, when 1.500 vacancies were offered, in various positions. The organizing committee, at the time, was the Carlos Chagas Foundation (FCC). In the case of secondary education, 600 vacancies were offered for the position of support agent. The distribution was as follows:
- pedagogue – 100 vacancies
- teacher – 800 vacancies
Offers for teachers were distributed among 11 disciplines:
- Chemistry (18);
- English language (26);
- Geography (60);
- Philosophy (5);
- Portuguese language (206);
- Physical education (25);
- Biology/science (83);

The selection was made up of objective tests, with 60 questions, in addition to preparing a case study for the teacher and writing for the agent.
