The notice provides for the removal of all surface equipment and materials, such as walkways, cranes, topsides and jackets, in addition to materials identified as having naturally occurring radiation.
The scope of service includes cutting underwater equipment and structures, such as piles, conductors and pipes in depths of up to 1,5 m below the sea floor.
Everything that is removed must be transported to a specific area defined by the contractor, and the decks and jackets will have to be dismantled and disposed of as scrap.
The original schedule foresaw the start of offshore activities by July 2020, with the contractor having 90 days to make the final disposition of the structures, materials and equipment of the Cação platforms.
Decommissioning programs under analysis and approved by ANP
Five programs for the decommissioning of offshore installations are under analysis by the Agency, two of them in the Campos Basin, one in Santos, one in the Potiguar Basin and one in Camamu-Almada.
In Campos, they are the semi-submersible production platform P-15, owned by Petrobras, and the Tubarão Azul field, operated by Dommo Energia.
In Santos, the decommissioning of the Oliva field, in the former BS4 block, operated by Enauta, is under analysis.
In Rio Grande do Norte, the ANP analyzes the program referring to the Siri field and, in Bahia, the Sardinha field, both operated by Petrobras.
Seven decommissioning projects have already been approved by the ANP – five in Santos, two in Sergipe-Alagoas, three in the Potiguar Basin, one in Espírito Santo and one in Camamu.
Among them are the three fixed platforms of Cação, informed above
Another case is that of FPSOs City of Rio de Janeiro, which, after having cracks detected in its hull during demobilization in the Espadarte field, was towed to Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz (ES) to undergo repairs before leaving the country.
