Petrobras considers postponing the ongoing contract negotiation process for another sixty days.

The delivery dates for the proposals were scheduled for the end of this month, the two competitions were started before the oil crisis and the worsening of the pandemic in Brazil.

One of Petrobras' bids includes the contracting of a unit with capacity to operate in a water depth of 2,4 m and the other, one or more rigs for operation in 700 m of water depth.

The oil crisis and the pandemic cause uncertainty in the market regarding how the bidding will progress, since Petrobras in the face of the new scenario may not want to continue with the proposals or even cancel the public notices after the new postponements.

The bidding for the 2,4 m rigs will be for the campaigns in the Campos, Santos and Espírito Santo basins.

The notice determines that the unit is ready for operation in the first quarter of 2021, being chartered for a period of three years.

The moored units process provides for a charter period of 1,365 thousand days, starting on December 31, 2020 and the possibility of extension for 460 days. per - PetroleoToday
