Honda New Civic stands out in the used sedan market. Priced at around R$40, the model offers excellent performance, modern design and advanced technologies, making it one of the best options.

Launched in Brazil in 2006, the eighth-generation Honda New Civic revolutionized the sedan segment with a bold and futuristic design, breaking with the sobriety common in the category. Almost two decades later, the model continues to attract drivers looking for an affordable vehiclel, economical and with excellent performance. The Civic has established itself as one of the best options in the used car market, delivering not only mechanical reliability, but also technologies that still make it competitive.

How much does the Honda New Civic cost in the sedan market currently?

The exterior design, bold interior and mechanical and technological evolution earned it the nickname New Civic, which is still used to identify it today. It won almost every comparison, at a time when the leadership of the sedan market was still disputed with the Corolla.

The Honda Civic debuted in two different versions, LXS and EXS, for R$59.600 and R$77.600, but the success and the waiting list were so long that some people were paying a premium of up to R$10. Currently, all Civic 0 km It is a hybrid and costs on average R$265.900.

Returning to the Honda New Civic launched 18 years ago, which lasted until 2011, and which can be found on the used market for prices ranging from R$40 to R$53 in its regular versions, one of the attractions was (or is) in the appearance, with features that mix futuristic and sporty elements, such as the low front with sharp headlights and the rear, with an outlet that resembles a coupe and taillights with lighting, which imitates the visual signature of LEDs.

The Honda Civic's interior is equipped with a variety of technologies

Both versions in the sedan market have 16-inch alloy wheels with five spokes, closed on the cheaper one and open on the more expensive one. But there are still three other differences on the outside, besides the logo: the chrome exhaust tip, the fog lights and the turn signal repeaters on the rearview mirrors.

The interior of the Honda New Civic made an even greater impact on those who entered it for the first time: an instrument panel illuminated by LEDs divided into two floors, the upper part showing the digital speedometer, engine temperature and fuel level, all above the steering wheel rim.

The lower instrument panel shows the warning lights, gear position, odometer and, in the foreground, the rev counter.

In practice, the main information is right in front of the driver, like a head-up display. The curved lines of the dashboard, with controls facing the driver, give the Honda Civic a modern look to this day. The parking brake is also close to the driver.

Honda New Civic delivers up to 192 hp of power

The mechanics are the same for all Civics, with a 1.8 gasoline engine delivering 140 hp at 6.300 rpm and 17,7 mkgf at 4.300 rpm. The gearbox is a five-speed automatic in the LXS version, there is the option of a manual transmission, also with five speeds. Only the LX configuration, at the time intended only for sales to PCD, had 125 hp.

Only in January 2007, the model adopted the flex engine in the LXS version in the sedan market. The EXS remained with the gasoline engine. In the Si version, a sports car launched at the end of 2007, the Honda Civic remained with the 2.0 192 horsepower gasoline engine.

The brakes are disc brakes on all four wheels, the steering was surprising at the time for being very direct and the suspension has a firmer character compared to the competition.

I have a 2007 EXS and mine did 18km/l with the air conditioning off and with the air conditioning on it dropped to 15.5km/l on autopilot at 116km per hour, in the city without pressing the foot down it does 7.5km/l, stepping on it does 6.5km/l less, but in short, for 40 thousand I wouldn't even sell the ****.
