IWS Fleet, a subsidiary of Integrated Wind Solutions, has received new commissioning service operations for offshore wind farms equipped with sustainable zero-emission batteries.
Integrated Wind Solutions (IWS) subsidiary IWS Fleet has taken delivery of the new commissioning service operations vessel (CSOV) IW Skywalker from shipbuilder China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd. (CMI).
After transit to Europe, the ship will begin the first of three charter contracts at the world's largest offshore wind farm – Dogger Bank in the USA – in the first quarter of 2024. During the delivery process, the IW Skywalker demonstrated its ability to efficient and safe navigation.

The ships developed by Kongsberg Maritime are equipped with 3D compensated walkways and crane systems, ensuring high standards in shipbuilding. IWS noted that the ships have several 'industry firsts', such as the biggest Batteries industry-leading solar panels for additional charging and a new hull and propulsion design that increases operability and reduces emissions. The vessels are the first in the industry to have the 'DNV SILENT' notation, which focuses on minimizing the impact on marine life below the water.
