The world's first concept for cement-based rechargeable batteries is born, thanks to unique research at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. Such a vision can become a reality and change the world of renewable energy in civil construction.

The concept, which promises to revolutionize the world of civil construction, first involves a cement-based mix, with small amounts of short carbon fibers added to increase conductivity and flexural hardness. Then, embedded within the mixture is a metal-coated carbon fiber mesh – iron for the anode, and nickel for the cathode.
