DAH Solar announces ambitious plans to enter the Brazilian energy market in 2024. The Chinese giant's initiative promises to generate thousands of jobs and transform the sector in the country.
China's solar panel giant DAH Solar is projecting an almost 80% increase in its exports to Brazil this year. Around 1,46 million solar panels are expected to be sold in 2024, an annual record. compared to 820 thousand in the previous year. In this article, we will go into detail about the market that promises to generate thousands of jobs with the arrival of DAH Solar.
Understand why DAH Solar plans to invest in Brazil
In the first quarter of this year, equipment sales reached 881 thousand painéis solares, surpassing the entire volume of 2023. With an eye on the positive turnaround in the solar energy market, DAH Solar is in the process of opening a branch in the country, with facilities already set up in Campinas (SP), generating thousands of jobs.
The company is just waiting for the final steps to open its CNPJ, which will be announced by the end of the year. Since it began exporting its products to the Brazilian solar energy market in 2019, the Chinese company has already supplied a total of 6 million photovoltaic panels, which total three gigawatts (GW) in power generation.

It is worth mentioning that DAH Solar recently exhibited, during the three days of Intersolar South America, its full-color full-screen modules that have been standing out globally. One example is the BIPV project (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) of 466 kW, currently under development in China.
According to Felipe Santos, commercial director of LATAM, the main objective of the colored modules is to integrate with buildings so that energy can be generated in places with different architecture and different scenarios, enabling greater usability.
Brazilian solar energy market continues to grow and generate jobs
DAH Solar's decision comes after generation in Brazil surpassed the 20% mark in the national electricity matrix, with more than 48 GW of power in operation, including large-scale plants and distributed micro and mini-generation systems.
The data is part of a new monthly bulletin from the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR), recently released. The numbers released by the entity were updated until October 9.
According to the association, the solar energy market generates jobs and for some time now has been the second source with the highest percentage of participation in electrical matrix, second only to hydroelectric generation, which accounts for 46% of the total operational volume.
This year alone, the share of solar energy in Brazil's electricity grid has risen from 16,5% in January to the current 20,2%. This growth has also caused the source to distance itself from wind farms, which have grown by 0,7% so far in 2024.
