The company is one of the main logistics operators in the market and remains focused on meeting customer needs

São Paulo, August 2022 - A DB Schenker – one of the global leaders in the multimodal logistics solutions market – will be present at 20th edition of Rio Oil & Gas 2022, one of the most important events in the oil and gas sector in Latin America. The fair, which is organized by the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), takes place between September 26 and 29, 2022, on the Olympic Boulevard in Rio de Janeiro, and brings together the main players and specialists in the segment.

DB Schenker will have a stand in the main pavilion of the event, together with the German Chamber of Commerce. This is the company's first participation in the event, in line with the company's plans to expand its activities in Brazil.

The oil and gas market is one of the company's main niches. For Vanessa Vinhaes, head of global projects and industrial solutions at DB Schenker, this is a sector that demands integrated and dedicated logistics, with specialists in the segment working with companies on a daily basis. In addition to parts and pieces moved via traditional transport in containers and air cargo, this segment demands from freight forwarders a know-how in special projects for loads with specific dimensions and needs. “DB Schenker has a dedicated global department, with high technical capacity and a body of engineering and logistics professionals capable of handling any type of equipment with excellence. With this growth projection, combined with the variation in the price of a barrel of oil compared to previous years, it will be fundamental for companies in this segment to seek qualified partners to minimize the risks of their operations, avoiding additional costs to the project. This is an opportunity for companies with global operations, such as DB Schenker”, evaluates the executive.

Affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the oil and gas sector is showing signs of recovery, with the prospect of generating 30 to 50 jobs this year. The projection is from the IBP, an entity that brings together the main companies in the sector. The institute also estimates that between 2020 and 2024 an amount close to US$ 50 billion will be invested in the sector.
