Investments in electricity, mostly linked to solar energy, corresponds to more than 10% of Paraíba's GDP and promises to generate many jobs in the state
The electric energy sector should invest R$ 7 billion in energy generation, transmission and distribution, the vast majority coming from solar energy sources. In addition, it is estimated that 50 jobs will be generated in Paraíba by 2025, according to information from the general director of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), André Pepitone, for the Click PB portal. The most benefited regions will be the sertão and the agreste of the state.

Pepitone revealed that the investment of BRL 7 billion is equivalent to more than 10% of Paraíba's GDP and is taking place at a moment of paramount importance, in the recovery of the economy after the challenging scenario of the coronavirus pandemic.
Paraíba has a solar energy complex located in the municipality of Coremas, in the backlands of the state. So far, three solar plants have already been built, whose energy has already been sold in auctions promoted by the Federal Government, according to the Aneel director.

An investment of BRL 450 million has already been made in the city of Paraíba, with the implementation of three solar energy parks, each with an installed capacity of 30 MW and BRL 150 million in invested resources. There are prospects for seven more solar energy parks, according to André Pepitone.
According to the Aneel director, the sun, which for a long time was treated as a villain and punished the region so much, can now act as a driving agent for economic development and job creation in the state of Paraíba.
President Bolsonaro visits Paraíba for the inauguration of the Solar Energy Complex
In addition to the presence of the Director of Aneel, President Jair Bolsonaro is confirmed to participate in an event to be held next Thursday (17), in Coremas, Paraíba. The meeting will be destined for the inauguration of solar energy plants installed in the city and promises to shake the city.
In addition to the solar energy plants already implemented in the region, others are to come. According to the general director of ANEEL, Compel, a distributor in the state of Paraná, has already purchased energy from four more solar energy plants, which are scheduled to begin construction soon and which will form part of the Coremas Solar Complex.
