A University of São Paulo (USP), considered the best higher education institution in Brazil, is accepting applications for the specialization in Neurofunctional Physiotherapy.
The course, offered by Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine (FMRP), will be totally the distance, allowing physiotherapists from all over the country to qualify without having to travel.
As classes will start in August 2025 and will run until August 2026, with updated content aimed at professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge about the treatment of patients with neurological disorders.

Target audience and course objective
The specialization course in Neurofunctional Physiotherapy has as target audience graduated physiotherapists, who must prove completion of their degree at the time of enrollment.
Foreign professionals can apply, but must present a diploma validated in Brazil.
The purpose of the specialization is train physiotherapists to act in the care of patients with functional kinetic disorders resulting from neurological syndromes.
During the course, students will have contact with a updated technical arsenal and will develop a improved clinical reasoning, which will allow for more effective and humanized care.
What will the course be like?
The specialization will be carried out 100% online, which allows flexibility for professionals to reconcile their studies with their work routine.
The course includes 24 modules, each containing assessments and consolidation activities, ensuring that students absorb knowledge progressively and effectively.
Furthermore, the curriculum is structured so that students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, fundamental for working in the area of neurofunctional physiotherapy.
Assessment and criteria for approval
To obtain certification, students must comply with a series of requirements, including:
- Fixation activities in the 24 modules (with a minimum grade of 7,0)
- Final test with 20 multiple choice questions
- Course Completion Work (TCC), evaluated by an examining board
- Minimum attendance of 75% in all disciplines and activities
The final grade will be composed of the sum of the module assessment activities, the final exam grade and the TCC grade, divided by three.
Investment and possibility of exemption
The value of registration fee for the course is R$290,00.
However, USP will offer 30 free places, aimed at candidates who meet the established socioeconomic criteria.
If the number of eligible candidates exceeds the exemption limit, a curriculum analysis to define the beneficiaries.
The following criteria will be taken into account for tiebreakers:
- Graduation from a public university
- Participation in scientific initiation
- Stricto sensu postgraduate degree with exclusive dedication
- Residency, improvement or specialization
- Master's or PhD
- academic publications
Candidates wishing to claim exemption must send your resumes until July 4, 2025 for analysis.
