DOF Rederi is divesting one of its platform supply vessels (PSVs), with delivery of the vessel following a long-term contract with Subsea7.

DOF Rederi, a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian ship owner DOF Group, is currently in the process of divesting one of its supply ships of platforms (PSVs).

The company announced that it was negotiating the sale of PSV Skandi Captain, a medium-sized vessel built in 2004, for an undisclosed international buyer.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 1Q 2024. DOF expects the sale to have 'a positive accounting effect'.

This decision is part of DOF Rederi's strategy to optimize its fleet of ships and focus on more modern vessels suited to the needs of the current market. The sale of Skandi Captain represents an important step in this direction, allowing the company to move towards a more competitive and sustainable future.

PSV Skandi Captain: 74,3 meter supply ship

With a total length of 74,3 meters, the PSV Skandi Captain has an MT 6009-FSV design and can accommodate 21 people on board.

Disposal of ships: Contracts and new jobs

The sale of this vessel occurs one month after DOF closed a contract with Subsea7 and sign an agreement with Maersk Supply Service for two construction vessels. Furthermore, the ship's Norwegian owner got his hands on three new service contracts with Petrobras, totaling more than US$260 million in value.

Contract extension and new long-term contract

The company secured an extension for the vessel until September 2023, along with a new long-term contract for one of its anchor handling towing and supply (AHTS) vessels with Equinor earlier this year.

New jobs and agreements in the Atlantic region, Brazil and West Africa

Additionally, DOF secured several new jobs in the Atlantic region and secured a contract extension in Brazil, along with new agreements in West Africa and the North Sea.
