After Suffering An Accident In The Middle Of The Forest, The Owner Of A Pickup Truck Was Saved Thanks To His Dog, Who Traveled Almost 7 Km To Find Help And Alert Family Members.
Animals have a sensitivity that humans do not fully understand. They have the incredible ability to detect imminent dangers, often hours before catastrophic events. One example that occurred in June involved a dog that walked almost 7 kilometers to alert the family that its owner had been in a car accident.
The accident occurred in Pine Valley, in the state of Oregon. A dog traveled alone almost 7 KM to return to the campsite where its family was.
The unusual behavior raised concern, as the dog was neither with its owner nor with the other three dogs that had also gone out for the walk. When the owner did not return to the campsite that afternoon, it became clear that something was wrong.

Unusual Rescue Filled With Obstacles
Alarmed, the family began a search. It wasn’t long before they found the man’s truck, which had fallen into a ravine and landed in a creek. However, the location was treacherous, and the steep, overgrown terrain prevented family members from getting close to the vehicle.
The accident mobilized four emergency agencies, in addition to the U.S. Forest Service. While the team assessed how to reach the vehicle, a police officer heard a voice calling for help.
It was the missing driver, who had managed to crawl about 100 meters away from the wreckage. He had spent the night in the open but was alive and responsive. Although this was excellent news, the challenge of rescuing him was far from over.

A Large Rescue Operation
The rescue team needed to use chainsaws to clear a path through the dense vegetation. After securing the victim in a rescue basket, they used a highline rope system to safely transport him across the ravine to the medical team.
From there, the driver was airlifted to a regional hospital, where he received specialized care.
Despite the impact of the accident, the man surprisingly did not suffer any internal injuries or fractures, according to information shared by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office.
The three dogs that were with him, however, were not as fortunate: two sustained fractures and are under veterinary care. The dog that returned to the campsite, however, emerged unscathed and played a crucial role in alerting the family.
