New electric motorcycle factory arrives in Manaus with the aim of strengthening the market. Company already offers cheap electric motorcycle of only R$ 9 thousand.

For those who are looking for a way to get rid of combustion motorcycles, electric motorcycles have become an increasingly present option in the Brazilian market, in the case of models from brands such as shineray and Voltz, for example. The fact is that, observing this movement, Boram, a company founded in 2021 and with a greater presence in the North region of Brazil, will expand its market with a new factory in Manaus (AM), stores and launches for the entire country.

New electric motorcycle factory receives investments of R$ 3,6 million

According to Thiago Freire, CEO of the company, in an interview, before electric motorcycles came to the country in SKD form, that is, semi-assembled. Now, the models will arrive in the country in CKD form, that is, disassembled, to be assembled on the production line in Manaus Industrial Pole.

Production starts in July. The total investment in the new factory was R$ 3,6 million and, at first, its production capacity will be 2.500 units per month. Boram has several suppliers, 30% of which are national.

The executive's idea now is to start expanding the new electric motorcycle factory by a DC in Valinhos (SP), precisely with the opening of a flagship in São Paulo. And then expand to other states in the Southeast and Northeast. From year to year, the company plans to expand to four states. According to Thiago, the flagships will function as parent stores and these locations will support all authorized resellers.

New electric motorcycle factory already has a low-cost model

Currently, Boram's portfolio already has 5 electric motorcycles, which are made up of options such as scooters, choppers and Streets, with prices ranging from R$ 14.750 to R$ 19.990, with a range of 50 to 80 km and a maximum speed of 65 to 85 km/h. It is worth noting that all models require a National Driver's License.

Before the end of this year, the company plans to launch an inexpensive electric motorcycle with a range of 100 km and a top speed of up to 110 km/h. Next, low-cost options are planned, something around R$ 9 thousand, for the call Boram Light, with 30 km of autonomy and 45 km/h of maximum speed, in addition to an electric bicycle.

The opening of the new factory in Manaus marks a new moment for the business in search of expansion in the country. With local assembly and the use of part of the components purchased from domestic suppliers, the operation will have an essential reduction in some taxes. Currently, if you want to sell to other states like São Paulo, the Manaus company must pay around 30 or 40% in taxes. Thiago points out that it is not possible to transfer this number to the end customer.

Boram sold more than 1 electric motorcycles

The venture emerged in 2019, in Manaus, at the hands of brothers and entrepreneurs Thiago and Hélio Freire as importers. Between the arrivals of China, a country from where he brought a variety of products such as home appliances, construction equipment and solar panels to the national market through his trade, Freire Import, Thiago found great business potential in electric motorcycles in the midst of a global crusade for sustainable forms of mobility.

Over the last few years, the brothers have sold more than 1.200 vehicles in three states in the northern region, namely Amazonas, Rondônia and Roraima, where they have 9 stores, between concept and conventional. In the last year, the company earned BRL 13 million making the 5 models in the portfolio available.
