Produced at the Embraer unit in Gavião Peixoto, in the interior of São Paulo, the eVTOL promises a true revolution in urban mobility. According to Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve, the creation of this prototype marks a crucial step for the company, which is now preparing for a series of rigorous tests.
Initial testing will evaluate operational and performance aspects, including flight capabilities and safety of the eVTOL. According to Bordais, this phase is essential to ensure that the aircraft meets the high performance and safety standards established by Embraer.
“We are focused on ensuring that our eVTOL is not only efficient, but also safe for everyday use,” declared the CEO. The aircraft configuration adopts an innovative approach to takeoff and cruise, using dedicated rotors for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruise.
This design eliminates the need for transition components, simplifying operation and increasing efficiency. The eVTOL is powered by dual electric motors, offering propulsion redundancy, meaning the aircraft can continue flying even if one engine fails. This system guarantees a high level of safety and performance, as well as a low noise level, a crucial aspect for urban operations.
Eve plans to produce around 2.900 of these aircraft, aiming to meet the growing demand for air mobility solutions in urban areas. “We are committed to leading the next era of urban mobility,” said Bordais.
In addition to the development of eVTOL, the company also invests in complementary solutions, such as Vector software, an Urban Air Traffic Management platform. This tool seeks to optimize air mobility operations on a global level, facilitating the integration of eVTOLs in cities.
