New edition of Embraer's free Software Specialization course is now open for registration. In total, 35 vacancies are being offered at the Information Technology Center of the Federal University (CIn) of Pernambuco (UFPE).

Embraer has open registration for the third edition of the Software Specialization Program (PES), carried out in partnership with the Information Technology Center of the Federal University (CIn) of Pernambuco (UFPE). The free course is completely remote and provides scholarship in the amount of R$5 and assistance with materials, paid in a single installment in the amount of R$3.

In total, there are 35 places in Embraer's free online course focused on people with degrees in exact sciences (higher and technologist) between 2018 and 2023 throughout Brazil.

The focus is to improve the knowledge of new professionals in the areas of Embedded Software development and Data Science, meeting the current and future demands of the aerospace industry.

According to Andreza Alberto, vice president of People, ESG and Communication at Embraer, the software specialization program has played an essential role in its strategy of continuous training of talents connected with the speed of digital transformations and encouraged to disseminate knowledge through its culture of innovation.

Embraer specialization course will be divided into three modules

Divided into three modules, the Embraer course has a nine-month curriculum and the professional receives the Lato Sensu postgraduate diploma from UFPE, an institution recognized for its high impact on Brazil's innovation ecosystem.

The program coordinator, professor Adriano Sarmento, from CIn-UFPE, explains that, among the differences of the free software specialization course, the curriculum that covers the various demands in terms of software and hardware development in the aeronautical industry and the strong interaction between teachers, students and Embraer employees stand out, which It shows the relationship between the various subjects covered in the disciplines and real challenges.

Online registration and testing takes place from September 25th to October 31st, and is completely free. This stage is classificatory and aspects of eligibility, CV analysis and online test results will be checked.

The second stage is the call for technical testing until November 24th. Then, the technical test of knowledge in computing will be carried out until December 10th.

This test will cover subjects such as Algorithms and Data Structures, Software Engineering, Probability and Statistics and Mathematics for Computer Science. The fourth stage is the call for dynamics and interviews until January 11th.

Group dynamics and online interviews are the fifth stage, scheduled for the 17th of the same month. The sixth is the call for those approved and, finally, the start of the program, scheduled for March 2024.

  • Data Science: Requirements, Software Architecture, Software Quality, Advanced Topics (Cybersecurity).
  • Embedded Software: Requirements, Software Architecture, Verification, Advanced Topics (Cybersecurity).

Module II – Specific Content

  • Data Science: Advanced Statistics, Predictive and Descriptive Modeling, Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning, Big Data and Analytics.
  • Embedded Software: Digital Signal Processing, Operating Systems, Real Time Systems, Fault Tolerant Systems, Electronic Hardware Programming (FPGA), Computer Architecture.
  • Beginning of the Course Completion Project (development of practical and interdisciplinary projects on a topic proposed by Embraer).

Module III – Project

Aeronautical Regulations, Aeronautical Culture and Course Completion Project.
