Embraer will grant collective vacations in January to all its employees in Brazil, around 15 workers, according to the São José dos Campos Metallurgical Union (SP)
Embraer will grant collective vacations in January to all its employees in Brazil; around 15 thousand workers, in preparation for the transfer of control of its commercial aviation division to the North American Boeing, informed the São José dos Campos Metalworkers' Union, this Thursday, October 10th. Last week, Embraer opened more than 300 vacancies for young people looking for their first job.
Wages will be paid normally during the leave, which will last from January 6 to 20, said the company and the metallurgist union that represents Embraer workers.

According to the union, in addition to stopping the company's activities in the state of São Paulo, it will also affect units in Belo Horizonte.
The entity added that the company's decision "causes apprehension among workers, concerned with the measures that the new direction of the company may eventually take".
A Boeing agreed to buy 80% of Embraer's commercial flats division for US$4,75 billion, a deal approved by shareholders and the Brazilian government, but which is undergoing intense regulatory scrutiny in Europe.
“The purpose of the license is to implement the internal segregation of the commercial aviation business,” Embraer said in a statement.
The deal is unlikely to have received regulatory approval by Jan. 20, as European officials have set a Feb. 20 deadline for issuing their decision on the deal.
The company said the workers will return to their normal roles at Embraer, with no involvement from Boeing, until the deal is approved.
Embraer said this month that it expects the deal to close in early 2020 after additional regulatory scrutiny. Previously, Embraer had said that the deal would be closed by the end of 2019.
