Embrapa presented to the Department of Agriculture and Supply of São Paulo a partnership proposal to enable sustainable solutions for agriculture and livestock in São Paulo, through its GeoWeb system. The initiative aims to contribute to the development of agriculture in the state, boosting production and improving food quality.
It allows the preparation of coverage maps of the five main social programs related to agriculture in the State of São Paulo: Acquisition of Food (PAA), Promotion of Rural Productive Activities, Cisterns and Other Social Technologies for Access to Water, Action for the Distribution of Food Baskets to Specific Population Groups and Banks Seed Communities.
The secretary of State Agriculture and Supply, Antônio Junqueira, declared that this system will be important for agriculture in SP. The GeoWeb “Productive Inclusion in your Municipality” is a digital product that enables the mapping, territorial analysis and evaluation of the federal government's social programs.
The system also provides information on food and nutrition insecurity and self-declared farmers in the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico). This technology was developed through technical cooperation between Embrapa Territorial and the National Secretariat for Food and Nutrition Security (Sesan), linked to the current Ministry of Social Development, Family and Fight against Hunger.
