After more than a decade without new competitions, the EMBRAPA finally brought news that many were eagerly awaiting. The president of the institution, Silvia Massruhá, announced that 890 vacancies will be distributed over the next few years, starting in 2024. The first 268 vacancies will be offered in the next notice, scheduled to be launched in the first half of 2024. These opportunities include careers in Researcher, Technician and Analyst, with salaries that can reach up to R$11 thousand, according to columnfinancial.

Reasons for the new EMBRAPA competition

Confirmation of the new EMBRAPA competition came on August 9, 2023, through president Silvia Massruhá. The main reason for carrying out this selection is the current deficit of employees in the institution. Since the last competition, held in 2014, EMBRAPA had been using the reserve register, but the situation worsened with a layoff program in 2019, which resulted in the departure of many employees close to retirement. That competition, therefore, arrives at a critical moment, filling gaps and ensuring the full functioning of the company.

Vacancy details

In total, 890 vacancies were authorized and will be distributed over four years. However, internal studies indicate that the need can reach 1.126 professionals, considering the budgetary impact. This suggests that EMBRAPA may include vacancies for reserve registration, in addition to immediate opportunities. According to Ordinance SEST/SEDDMME No. 8.698/2021, the institution has a total limit of 8.934 vacancies, divided between the permanent staff (8.893) and the temporary staff of amnestied people (41). Currently, EMBRAPA has around 7,8 active employees.

Registration and requirements for the EMBRAPA competition

These include Brazilian or Portuguese nationality, being up to date with electoral obligations, having a reservist or incorporation exemption certificate (for male candidates), being at least 18 years old on the date of hiring and having physical and mental aptitude for perform the duties of the position.

The vacancies offered by EMBRAPA are distributed in three main areas:

Higher Level Technician:

· Requirements: Diploma degree in the chosen specialty, registration with the class council and, sometimes, minimum experience of one year in the field after graduation.

· Assignments: Management of budgetary, financial, accounting and auditing activities, in addition to the preparation and analysis of reports and opinions.

· Starting Remuneration: R$4.790,41.

Analyst:

· Requirements: Bachelor's degree in the desired specialty, registration with the class council and, possibly, a master's degree.

· Assignments: Management of research support projects, administration of internal processes and development of strategic solutions.

· Starting Remuneration: R$9.415,06.

Researcher:

· Requirements: Bachelor's degree in the chosen specialty, master's or doctorate depending on the area.

· Assignments: Preparation, execution and evaluation of research and development projects related to EMBRAPA's core activity.

· Starting Remuneration: R$11.047,22.
