The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) was created in 1973 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, with the objective of guaranteeing food security to Brazil and a prominent position in the international food, fiber and energy market. At the moment, the state-owned company is offering 73 online and totally free courses in the agriculture and sustainability sector.
Embrapa's online courses are aimed at a wide range of participants, including technical assistance and rural extension professionals, farmers, agribusiness agents, rural producers and the rural community in general. Although they do not require prior knowledge, some of the online courses have specific education level requirements. In addition, EMBRAPA's 73 free online courses will offer a free certificate. A “participation certificate will be given to users who meet the requirements defined for each training”.
