Saipem is looking for companies that can provide fabrication, blasting and painting, quality control / NDT services and scaffolding services in the South African country

Saipem America Guyana Branch is inviting companies to express an interest in bidding to provide a range of services. These include; fabrication, blasting and painting, quality control / NDT services and scaffolding. The company said it is committed to “long-term sustainability to create social and commercial benefits back in Guyana where possible and without compromising HSSE and the quality of our crew and facilities.”

In March, Saipem invited companies to express their interest in competing for labor and medical service providers. The Italian company has been awarded a contract for the Subsea Umbilicals Risers Flowlines (SURF) package for Liza Phase 1. Under the contract, Saipem will undertake engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the risers, flowlines and structures and jumpers.

The company's contract also includes the transport and installation of umbilicals, collectors and associated foundations for production and water and gas injection systems. The execution of the works is expected to begin in 2019. Brazilian contractors may have a good chance of competing in these bids, as this invitation does not delimit geographic issues or other country of origin requirements.
