Enel SP will invest more than R$ 10 million and celebrates the start of works to expand the power supply capacity of the substation in Sumaré, which will benefit 24 customers and create several jobs
Enel Distribuição SP started the works for the expansion of the power supply capacity of the Sumaré substation this Tuesday (27), in the West Zone of SP. The project will receive an investment of R$ 10,6 million and, in addition to generating several jobs for the population, it will benefit approximately 24 customers in six districts of São Paulo. The works are expected to be completed in March next year.

The purpose of Enel's works is to expand the supply capacity of the Sumaré substation by 20 Megavolt Ampere (MVA). Technicians will replace three 15/20 MVA transformers with two 32/40 MVA transformers.
In addition, they will also install a digital protection and control system so that the Sumaré substation can operate remotely through the concessionaire's Distribution Operation Center, in Barueri (SP). According to Vincenzo Ruotolo, responsible for the concessionaire's Infrastructure and Networks area, Enel SP's project to expand and implement new technologies at the Sumaré substation will contribute to increasing the reliability of the energy system, and will also accompany the growth of the consumer market. in the region.

Furthermore, the project, which will create several jobs, is in line with the digitalization process of Enel SP's electricity network. The project, which promises to generate several jobs, will also allow the region's electricity grid to keep up with the growth of the consumer market, encouraging socioeconomic development in the capital of São Paulo.

Enel SP modernizes its substations
Also this month, in addition to the works in Sumaré, Enel SP started the modernization works of the Regis substation, in the municipality of Itapecerica da Serra, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.
In this project, which also generated several jobs, approximately R$ 4,3 million were invested and benefited approximately 34,5 thousand customers in the municipalities of Embu, Juquitiba, São Paulo, São Lourenço da Serra and Itapecerica. The distributor has a plan to improve and modernize its energy systems and last year alone invested more than BRL 900 million, an increase of 9,5% compared to 2019.
The resources applied by the company are aimed at optimizing the SE's reactive capacity, increasing the quality of the energy supplied, consisting of the construction of a Capacitor Bank (EBC) and the installation of 145 kV circuit breakers and switches.
