Eneva, stimulated by previous discoveries, decided to drill the third well in block AM-T-84, located in the Amazon basin, which resulted in the discovery of new evidence of natural gas in the region
This week, Eneva announced that evidence of natural gas was found in well 3-ENV-35D-AM, located in the onshore block AM-T-84, in the Amazon basin – the largest in the country. The discovery is already the third promoted by the company in this block in less than a year.
Eneva's exploratory campaign in the Amazon basin began in 2019, with the idea of liquefying the natural gas found in the Azulão field and transport it to the state of Roraima, where it will supply a thermal plant built to supply electricity to the region. Under this bias, it is worth remembering that the Amazon holds 50% of all Brazilian reserves of natural gas exploration on land.
In addition to the first two discoveries in the AM-T-84 block, during the last months of November and May, Eneva also found signs of oil and natural gas in the neighboring block AM-T-85
In November of last year, while the pioneer well in the AM-T-84 block was being drilled, Eneva had already informed the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) about the existence of signs of oil and natural gas in the region. Then, in May of this year, the company's second discovery was announced, which took place in the second well in the area, called 3-ENV-33D-AM.

Furthermore, in April, Eneva also communicated the finding of oil and natural gas evidence in well 1-ENV-31D-AM, located in another neighboring block, AM-T-85. Thus, it becomes evident that the exploratory program in Amazon has contributed to the expansion of the company's reserves.
Eneva's natural gas reserves more than doubled with the help of the exploratory program in the Amazon basin
Since the end of 2021, Eneva's natural gas reserves have more than doubled, according to an audit carried out by the independent consultancy Gaffney, Cline & Associates (GCA). In four months, volumes jumped from 7,109 billion m³ to 14,8 billion m³.
The document produced by GCA concerns the Azulão gas and condensate field, in production, and the exploratory blocks AM-T-84 and AM-T-85, included in the Assessment and Discovery Plan (PAD) Anebá.
About Eneva
A eneva corresponds to the largest private natural gas operator in the country. Its exploration and production assets are located in the states of Amazonas and Maranhão, with a total area under concession of over 60 km².
The company explores and produces natural gas according to the demand of the plants. According to her, onshore non-associated gas is more competitive in terms of discovery, development and production costs per cubic meter, which results in energy generation at more attractive costs for the Brazilian electrical system.
In addition to the activities already mentioned, Eneva also operates in the production of safe and competitive energy for all of Brazil. The company has a thermal park whose contracted installed capacity is 3,7 GW, with assets located in the states of Maranhão, Ceará and Roraima.
Finally, thanks to its experience in the energy and natural gas market, Eneva also works on the development of tailored energy solutions based on the needs of each client. In this way, solutions are offered aimed at energy trading, energy management or, finally, the supply of natural gas to companies.
