Norwegian oil company Equinor has reached agreements with Baker Hughes, Halliburton and Schlumberger for drilling activities and wells in the Bacalhau field in Brazil. According to a note from the Norwegian company this Tuesday (10/11), there are three contracts for the Bacalhau field worth an estimated US$455 million. In addition to 40% (operator), the Bacalhau field is partnered by North American ExxonMobil 40% and Portugal's Petrogal 20% and Pré-sal Petróleo SA (PPSA, non-investing government agency).

The contract with Baker Huges provides for drilling and completion services, while Halliburton will carry out intervention and line lifting activities and Schlumberger will be responsible for cable services.

The deals see an expected local content commitment of 74%, Equinor explained, adding that Brazil is “a key area” for the company.

Also according to company, the Bacalhau project is in the maturation phase and should have a final investment decision next year.
