Lecture followed by panel with companies addresses the main changes in the Single Foreign Trade Portal
RGC, a specialist in tax classification and special customs regimes, promotes on June 21, at the Hotel Vitória Concept, in Campinas (SP), the event “RGC Experience – Get ready for the future of Tax Classification with a Product Catalog”. Aimed at guests and broadcast over the internet, the event will feature Alexandre Zambrano, a specialist in Foreign Trade and Customs Law, as a speaker, as well as a panel with participating companies, such as Philips, Siemens and 3M.

The event marks the launch of the HSDW LatAm platform, developed by the company to support the Single Foreign Trade Portal (Siscomex), for the purpose of registering products and supporting the monitoring of their attributes and tax classification, in accordance with the new format being implemented by the Federal Revenue Service.
“The focus of the discussion will be the transition from what is currently used and what will be used in relation to the tax classification of products. The objective of the event is to provide participating companies with information about the moment we are going through in terms of portal transition and to awaken in them the importance of starting to work on adapting their products to the new import scenario”, explained Fabio Rabelo, CEO of RGC.
The expectation is that the new Single Foreign Trade Portal will definitely start operating in 2024. “Companies need to be ready for when the portal starts operating definitively with 100% of Foreign Trade operations within the Revenue website. For this, they will need an adequate platform, which meets the specifications of the Single Portal, and the event meets this”, points out Rabelo.
The Siscomex Single Portal environment conceived in the “Single Window” approach, created by the World Customs Organization to facilitate transactions in international trade. Developed by the federal government to integrate information and processes related to foreign trade in Brazil. Basically, it is a single interface used by government agencies and Comex operators. The main objective of the portal is to reduce bureaucracy, modernization, security and efficiency, in addition to unifying all information related to import, export and customs control, to avoid repetitions in the attachment of data.
Volvo
Volvo, one of the world's largest manufacturers of trucks, buses, construction equipment, marine and industrial engines, has been assisted by RGC since 2007 for technical analysis of tax classification and ex-tariffs. The company will be the first to integrate HSDW LatAm in its transition and monitoring process to the Single Portal, fully connected with the ERP and Comex systems.
The integration, security and compliance features of HSDW LatAm will make all the difference when the Single Portal environment is fully operational. The case will be presented at the event.

Alexandre Zambrano is an engineer and has been working with Foreign Trade and customs control for over ten years. He holds a post-graduate degree in Foreign Trade and Customs Law and is manager of the Single Portal for Foreign Trade Program and teaches courses in international trade.
