ExxonMobil will donate funds to Instituto Rahamim, a local NGO, which will distribute basic food baskets in a campaign to combat hunger in ten municipalities in Sergipe
Multinational ExxonMobil, the largest oil company in the USA and operator of nine oil blocks in Sergipe, also known as Esso, will carry out its first social initiative in Sergipe, donating basic food baskets to about 3.600 families in Sergipe in a situation of social and economic vulnerability aggravated by the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic

The oil company is currently the operator of nine blocks in the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin and plans to start its exploration campaign in the second half of 2021.

Exxonmobil will allocate R$ 287.500 for the donation of basic food baskets in Sergipe
In this stage of the assistance action, Exxonmobil will allocate R$ 287.500 for the donation of basic food baskets with basic nutrition and hygiene items. The donations are part of the campaign โBalaio Solidรกrio โ Sergipe Sem Fomeโ and will be carried out through the support of the Rahamim Institute, an Organized Civil Society of assistance character active in the state.
โThe Rahamim Institute has been working for 20 years in the development of communities in a situation of social vulnerability in Sergipe and, throughout the crisis brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, we are looking for solutions to alleviate the suffering of families in greater vulnerability. ExxonMobil's contribution will bring great relief to Sergipe families in a state of severe food insecurity,โ said Cristiano Lima, founder and CEO of Instituto Rahamim.
The identification of families to be assisted by the campaign was carried out by volunteer partners of the Institute who carry out social mapping in the region. The basket distribution plan covers the municipalities of Aracajรบ, Barra dos Coqueiros, Lagarto, Laranjeiras, Nossa Senhora da Glรณria, Nossa Senhora do Socorro, Poรงo Redondo, Porto da Folha, Salgado and Neรณpolis.
Distribution will be organized in accordance with health protocols to prevent Covid-19, with body temperature measurement, use of masks and 70% ethyl alcohol, in addition to social distancing in cases of collective delivery.

First companhia of the sector to be established in the country and with continuous operation since 1912, currently ExxonMobil has around 1.750 employees distributed in the areas of chemicals, in Sรฃo Paulo; exploration and production, in Rio de Janeiro; and in a global business center in Paranรก.
In the exploration and production area, the company has stakes in 28 offshore blocks, 17 of which as operator. The company is also the operator of 60% of its useful area (approximately 10.000 km2). In the Sergipe-Alagoas basin, ExxonMobil owns 9 offshore blocks. Over the past four years, US$ 4 billion has been invested in the acquisition of these prime assets.
In the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin, ExxonMobil is the operator of nine blocks and plans to begin its exploration campaign in the region in the second half of 2021.
