Firjan research reveals that 42,3% of the jobs that were lost in the pandemic were recovered

Firjan reveals that the industry sector recovered 15.225 jobs, out of a total of 36.010 jobs that were lost from March to June

Firjan, Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro, carried out a survey that revealed that the industry recovered 15.225 jobs from the 36.010 lost jobs. The focus is on the performance of the sectors of metal, rubber and plastic material, which recovered lost jobs and created new ones.

In the trade sector, 31% of lost jobs were recovered between July and October. On the other hand, the survey shows that, since July, the accumulated unemployment rate in the services sector remains negative, with a total of 5.142.

The State of Rio de Janeiro in October had several hirings, with 16.271 new vacancies and official contracts. In September, the number of vacancies was 8.966, compared to just 5.152 in August.

In October, the manufacturing industry was the one that employed the most (2.945), followed by civil construction (1.707) and industrial services of public utility (307). The extractive industry has a negative balance of payments of 146 jobs.
