Firjan data revealed the main sectors of the national labor market in a starting salary ranking. The oil and natural gas extraction sector remained in first place throughout 2022, according to the federation.
The Firjan (Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro) recently released data related to the initial remuneration of the main segments of the national market. The oil and natural gas sector was the winner on the list, with the highest starting salary in 2022. The average in the fuel extraction segment was BRL 9.605. Engineers, on the other hand, lead starting salaries in occupations in the day national.

Firjan periodically carries out quantitative surveys regarding the remuneration of the main segments of the Brazilian labor market.
Recently, the organization released data for the year 2022, with a complete ranking of the highest starting salaries in the national industry sectors and occupations.

The oil and natural gas extraction sector topped the list, with an average starting salary of R$9.605, according to the ranking.
In 2022, there was an expansive growth of oil and gas exploration projects in the national market, boosting the amounts paid in the starting salary.
The amount is almost five times more than the national average for the analyzed areas (R$ 1.944), according to Firjan.
The body considers data from Caged (General Register of Employed and Unemployed) to carry out the annual ranking.
The oil and gas sector continues to be the leader among the segments of the national industry, while engineers lead the occupations.
“It is a sector that, in addition to being heated, demands a high level of specialization from professionals”, said Jonathas Goulart, manager of economic studies at Firjan.
The national engineering branch also saw great growth in the 2022 market. According to the federation, the sectors of the sector stood out due to the increase in admission gains compared to 2021 (18,5%).
Oil and gas, on the other hand, had an increase of 10,8% in the admission salary in 2022, according to the table.
Thus, the data from Firjan reinforce the strong presence of the oil and natural gas sector in the Brazilian market.
