Launched in January 2013, the Hyundai HB20X emerged as a unique option in the market, standing out as Hyundai's popular car for those looking for an adventurous hatchback. It came to compete directly with models such as the Volkswagen Gol Rallye, CrossFox and Renault Sandero Stepway. The Hyundai HB20X quickly stood out, offering a robust design, off-road style and an affordable price, being an excellent alternative for those looking to invest in a popular Hyundai car.

The Hyundai HB20X has arrived on the Brazilian market with two main versions, Style and Premium, both equipped with the 1.6 16V four-cylinder engine, capable of generating up to 128 horsepower and 16,5 kgfm of torque. Since its launch, the Hyundai car has gained a solid fan base for its versatility and performance, especially in the adventure hatchback category.

One of the biggest differences between the HB20X and the conventional HB20 was its more robust look, with redesigned bumpers and grilles, headlights with black masks, and exclusive 15-inch wheels. These changes gave Hyundai's popular car a more adventurous look, ideal for those looking for a model that combines urban performance with an off-road feel.

Furthermore, the HB20X stood out due to its taller tires, which provided greater comfort when driving. The Hyundai HB20X also proved to be efficient in terms of fuel consumption, especially with gasoline, reaching 13,3 km/l, making it an attractive option for both everyday use and longer trips.

This adventurous hatchback offers a combination of style, economy and performance. Even with rising prices in the automotive sector, the Hyundai HB20X continues to be one of the best options for a popular car in Brazil, especially for those who want to invest in a Hyundai model without giving up comfort and fuel economy.

Points to Consider Before Buying a Hyundai HB20X

Despite being a popular and highly appreciated car, the Hyundai HB20X has some points that should be taken into consideration before purchasing. Like any vehicle, the HB20X has its particularities, and it is important to be aware of some details that may affect the purchasing decision.

Painting

Some Hyundai HB20X owners have reported problems with the car's paintwork, which can show scratches, peeling, and stains caused by impacts with stones. This type of damage can devalue the car, especially if it is discovered in a precautionary report. Therefore, it is essential to check the condition of the paintwork before purchasing a used model.

Fuel gauge

Another problem frequently reported by Hyundai HB20X owners is an inaccurate fuel gauge. In many cases, the solution involves replacing the float or fuel pump. This type of maintenance can generate extra costs, so it is advisable to check this item at the time of purchase.

Ignition coil

The ignition coil is another component that deserves special attention. Some HB20X owners have reported engine failure to start due to problems with this part. The cost of a new ignition coil can be relatively high, so it is important to check if the car is under warranty or negotiate a discount if a replacement is necessary.

Recalls and safety in the Hyundai HB20X

Hyundai has issued a few recalls for the HB20X over the years, and it's important to check whether the car has undergone the necessary repairs before making a purchase.

In 2016, for example, a recall was made to correct a problem with the gear indicator on automatic versions manufactured between 2013 and 2015. Another recall was carried out in 2021 to replace the brake master cylinder on models manufactured between November 2020 and November 2021.

Which version of the Hyundai HB20X to choose?

The Hyundai HB20X, in its Style and Premium versions, offers a complete equipment package, with the main difference between the two versions being the finish. The version Style It already comes with items such as an audio system with Bluetooth and steering wheel controls, while the Premium version adds features such as a pocketknife key and presence and inclination sensors.

For those looking for more comfort, the automatic transmission version is an excellent choice. Those who prefer a car with greater fuel efficiency can opt for the manual version. Consumption varies according to the transmission, with the manual version reaching 13,3 km/l with gasoline and the automatic version registering slightly lower averages, but still within economic standards.

The Hyundai HB20X continues to be a smart choice for those looking for a popular car that combines style, robustness and fuel economy. For less than R$48, Hyundai's popular car beats many competitors in the adventure hatchback category, standing out for both its design and performance.

With an efficient fuel consumption of 13,3 km/l with gasoline and an affordable price, the Hyundai HB20X is ideal for those who want a Hyundai car with off-road style, without sacrificing economy and comfort. Whether for daily use in the city or for longer adventures, the HB20X offers the best of both worlds, proving that a popular car can be much more than just an entry-level option in the automotive market.

Exactly! I bought my HB20X platinum plus zero 16/17 already with electric steering and 6-speed gearbox and 4 ABs, almost ideal car for two. . In this surreal scenario of the car market where a 3-cylinder “cost reduction” with dubious reliability costs over 100 thousand, I don't even think about getting rid of mine.

I will never buy a Hyundai again! I bought a vehicle under warranty with a regular inspection and the Lealto dealership did not replace the part (high pressure pump worth $3.800,00) chronic defect HB20 2023! Be amazed, according to the seller, not even the Lealto Rio dealership will accept the model in exchange for another vehicle, even for the purchase of a zero km vehicle! Imagine, they do not accept the vehicle they sell.
