Ford Expands Performance Catalog with Official Supercharger Developed with Whipple, Allowing F‑150 and Mustang Equipped with V8 Coyote Engine to Exceed 700 hp While Maintaining Coverage Linked to Authorized Network and Installation Certified by the Manufacturer.
Ford has started offering an official way to boost the power of the F-150 and Mustang in the United States with installation validated by the brand itself, without breaking the coverage associated with the preparation package.
This innovation applies to vehicles equipped with the V8 5.0 Coyote and adds to the catalog a supercharger kit developed with Whipple, available for delivery already installed on the 2026 models.
In practice, the F-150 with this setup delivers 700 hp, equivalent to about 710 cv, along with 590 lb-ft, or approximately 81.6 kgfm.

In the Mustang GT and Dark Horse, the package raises the power to 810 hp, close to 821 cv, with 615 lb-ft, about 85 kgfm, when the car is equipped with an active exhaust.
In versions with the standard exhaust, the result drops by 10 hp.
How the Official Ford Package Works
The difference in this announcement is not just in the numbers, but in the delivery method.
Instead of relying on an independent preparation, buyers can leave with the new vehicle already configured with the supercharger as a pre-delivery option, within the network associated with the brand, which reduces the risk of installation incompatibilities and preserves the manufacturer’s backing.
In the case of the pickup, the kit listed by Ford Performance Parts is suitable for the F-150 5.0 produced between the model years 2021 and 2026, in 4×2 and 4×4 versions with a single alternator.

For the Mustang, the compatibility indicated by the brand includes models 2024 to 2026 with the 5.0 engine, including GT and Dark Horse, always requiring premium gasoline.
The preparation uses a Whipple Gen 6 compressor of 3.0 liters, of the twin-screw type, combined with a dual-pass intercooler, specific calibration from Ford, and proprietary tool for engine programming.
In the Mustang, the package also includes a 92 mm throttle body, cooler specification spark plugs, and injectors derived from the Shelby GT500, parts designed to support the increased load with appropriate electronic control.
More Power, But with Limits Set by the Factory
Although the performance gain is significant, Ford states that the top speed of the vehicles is not altered compared to the production configuration.
The focus of the package is on increasing power and response, not on releasing a new final speed calibration, an important point for those who associate this type of modification with comprehensive changes in behavior across all usage ranges.
The manufacturer also classifies the system within its durability standards.
According to the official communication, the setup was designed and tested based on the internal criterion of 100,000 miles, equivalent to about 160,9 thousand kilometers, and comes with a Ford Performance Parts warranty of three years or 36,000 miles, approximately 57.9 thousand kilometers, from the vehicle’s entry into service.
The coverage applies as long as the installation is performed by a Ford dealership or ASE certified technician.
This point helps explain why Ford turned this innovation into a commercial argument.
High-gain preparations usually increase the risk of losing warranty coverage when done outside the manufacturer’s ecosystem.
In this case, the brand attempts to reverse the logic and sell extra performance as an official accessory, already approved for the mechanical set and accompanied by its own documentation in the parts catalog.
F-150 Lobo Becomes Showcase for the New Phase
Among the models cited by Ford itself, the F-150 Lobo 2026 stands out as the most direct showcase for the new kit.
The pickup, presented by the brand as a street truck with a more aggressive look, combines the aesthetic proposal with a power delivery far above the conventional configuration of the naturally aspirated V8.
This enhances its appeal to an audience seeking customization endorsed by the factory.
In the Mustang, the move carries even greater symbolic weight as it brings the V8 Coyote to a power level that approaches numbers traditionally associated with more extreme versions of Ford’s sports lineage.
Nonetheless, the brand maintains the package as a cataloged accessory, not as a new production version.
This strategy preserves the current structure of the range and creates space for customization already in the purchasing process.
Another relevant piece of information is the official price listed in the North American catalog.
Ford lists the preparation for the F-150 at US$ 10,250, while the Mustang kit appears at US$ 10,500, prices not including installation and potential additional items.
Among them is the additional set required in certain pickups with Pro Power Onboard.
Still, for customers in this niche, the central proposition is not cost savings.
The main attraction lies in the combination of high power, standardized installation, and coverage linked to the authorized network.
Thus, Ford expands a traditional practice of the North American market.
Performance divisions operate as an extension of the brand itself and offer factory upgrades for vehicles already sold as sporty or emotionally appealing utility vehicles.
Instead of treating the modification as a break from the original project, the company makes it part of the customization package. Rules, limits, and formal support are defined from the moment of ordering the car.
