Partnership between Keppel Offshore and SBM has happened before

FPSO is an acronym for “floating production, storage and offloading vessel”, and refers to the type of delivery that Keppel Offshore intends to carry out.

The demand, made by SBM Offshore, marks yet another partnership between both companies.

So far, it is the third FPSO that the Singaporean brand has developed and, this time, they made a point of treating the project as a “mega”, emphasizing the effort put in by the team.

Overall, the duo has been together on more than 25 jobs so far.

According to the schedule, the completion of the stage should take place in the first quarter of 2023, by March.

Which means that the Keppel Offshore team must already be working on the last repairs so that everything is delivered in a timely manner.

In this context, the FPSO has even received a nomination, being called Prosperity.

The title was chosen by Arya Ali, the First Lady of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. She was the guest of honor during a ceremony held this Wednesday, 01.

Oil production and storage at the FPSO Prosperity should be high and aims to contribute to the enhancement of technology in the area, according to the planning stages

Regarding the quantitative data of the project, the FPSO Prosperity is expected to be capable of producing around 220 barrels of oil per day, in addition to its gas treatment capacity, which should be able to handle a demand of 400 million cubic feet per day.

Regarding storage, according to the project, the number of barrels of crude oil could reach 2 million, a considerable number for the company.

It is yet another milestone reached by SBM and the result of an old partnership.

Speaking about the trust established between both brands, Chris Ong, CEO of Keppel Offshore & Marine, said: “We are pleased to support SBM Offshore and ExxonMobil in contributing to Guyana's oil and gas industry with a third FPSO for deployment in the Stabroek block. The Prosperity FPSO reinforces Keppel Offshore & Marine's position as a world leader in FPSO integration and builds on our track record of over 130 FPSO projects. It also marks our 27th major project for SBM Offshore, building on the strong partnership we have established over decades of collaboration.”

SBM Offshore's FPSO Prosperity, developed by Keppel Offshore & Marine, will be operated for up to two years on the Stabroek Block, after which the floating vessel will be transferred to ExxonMobil. Born in Singapore, the project is ambitious and fulfills the adjective used by the company to describe it: mega, something big and with potential. Official delivery should take place by March 2023.
