O Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP) published the Notice no. 95/2024, who opens the selection process for the course of free specialization in geography teaching. The course is an excellent opportunity to professional training for those who want to improve their teaching and education management skills, offering 30 vacancies for entry in the first semester of 2025.
O course aims to promote the continued qualification geography teachers, as well as other graduates and bachelors in related areas, contributing to the improvement of professionals working in basic education. The specialization will be offered in the format in-person or, with evening classes at Tuesdays and Thursdays, at Campus São Paulo, located in the Canindé neighborhood. The free course has a total workload of 370,5 hours, distributed throughout 18 months, and does not require the preparation of a Final Course Work (TCC). The activities will consist of lectures, seminars, debates and periodic evaluations.
Available vacancies and locations
The Federal Institute IFSP offers 30 vacancies for the course, being distributed as follows: 21 vacancies for broad competition and the others for affirmative actions. These actions include 6 vacancies reserved for candidates blacks (black and brown) ou indigenous, 2 vacancies for disabled people (PCD), and 1 vacancy intended for candidates quilombolas, according to the quota policy of IFSP. All vacancies are for the Campus São Paulo, in the face-to-face course.

Selection processes for the Federal Institute
The selection process will be carried out in two stages. The first stage consists of a written test, which includes multiple choice questions and an essay question, with a total value of 80 points. The second stage is the evaluation of a letter of intent, which has up to 20 points.
To participate in the vacancies reserved by affirmative action, candidates must submit the required supporting documentation, such as ethnic-racial self-declaration and medical reports, when applicable. IFSP ensures that affirmative actions will follow the legal criteria, and the remaining vacancies will be allocated to general competition.
Application requirements
Interested candidates must have a degree in free degree in Geography or other related areas. To register, you must have a Valid ID and CPF, and candidates must be able to attend classes at face-to-face format. Those enrolled in affirmative actions must present the respective proof during the registration process.
