Aiming at the growth of its operations in the offshore sector in the coming years, Perenco Brasil announced the departure of the FSO Pargo platform in Dubai.

The vessel will travel to the shallow waters of the Campos Basin, at Polo Pargo. The expectation is that the FSO will arrive at the destination in March of this year and, in August, it will already start the exploration operation in the area.

Once anchored 2,8 km from the Pargo platform, the FSO will be instrumental in extending Perenco Brasil's offshore performance.

The vessel was built in 2004 in a large project, and currently has a storage capacity of 750.000 barrels.

FSO's conversion work began in September 2021 at the DryDocks World shipyard in Dubai, with a view to extending its service life by 20 years.

In addition, operations were carried out to adapt the FSO platform to the Brazilian standards of the offshore market, as provided by Perenco Brasil.

Thus, an external turret was installed on the vessel for the mooring system, helipad and measurement skid.

The Pargo Pole currently comprises the Pargo, Carapeba and Vermelho fields, with production of approximately 12.000 barrels of oil per day. Even with the expressive numbers, the company Perenco Brasil still intends to expand these values over the coming years.

It has been investing its resources in revitalizing production, acquiring new equipment and improving the center's infrastructure.

With the arrival and start of operations with the FSO Pargo platform, the company will be able to take new directions in production.

Company prepares for heavy investments in the infrastructure of Polo Pargo after the arrival of the FSO Pargo platform

After the vessel arrives in the waters of the Campos Basin, Perenco Brasil intends to invest heavily in new facilities for the production of fuels.

In this way, it is preparing for the installation in January of two new pipelines connecting the Carapeba and Vermelho fields to the Pargo platform.

Combining this project with future investments in the Campos Basin, the company expects to reach production of 15.000 barrels per day by the end of 2023.

“We are pleased to confirm the departure of FSO from the shipyard, which is a key step in Perenco Brasil's $400 million Polo Pargo Development Plan. Perenco's technical expertise in the successful operation of mature fields is also demonstrated in the Polo Pargo concessions, where we have already completed three years of safe operations with positive results”, highlighted the General Director of Perenco Brasil, Yves Postec.

The arrival of the FSO Pargo platform in the waters of the Campos Basin marks just one more step in Perenco Brasil's project for the region.
