President of Funai pronounces on the contest and the availability of job openings
Funai's contest is one of the proposals made by the institution's president, deputy Joenia Wapichana (Sustainability Network). According to her, the government is already aware of the problems experienced by indigenous peoples in Brazil and aims to remedy them as soon as possible. Furthermore, upon assuming her position at Funai, she promised to resume the course of the contest and restructure the staff, offering new job openings.
Still according to the deputy, Funai employees suffered a process of disorientation, which culminated in an even greater loss of rights for indigenous peoples. The job vacancies made available in the contest will be aimed at organized, proactive people interested in acting directly in the consolidation of rights to indigenous populations.
