Natural gas processed at Comperj will have a Receiving Point in Guapimirim, in Rio de Janeiro, on the Gasduc III gas pipeline and works should last 1 year.

Comperj's UPGN continues to generate works throughout Rio de Janeiro, just over a month after announcing that it will invest 900 million reais over the next five years, Nova Transportadora Sudeste (NTS) received authorization from the ANP to build the natural gas reception point PR Guapimirim (RJ), in the Gasduc III gas pipeline, with capacity for 18,2 million m³/day.

NTS did not disclose how many jobs will be generated with the works, but informed that they should last about a year in the municipality of Guapimirim in the fluminense region.

The PR (Receipt Point) of Guapimirim will receive the gas processed at Comperj's UPGN, and is under construction by Petrobras and Kerui Metodo, which will treat pre-salt production, drained by Route 3 (including gas from transfer of rights fields ).

Petrobras still holds a 10% stake in NTS which is controlled by an investment fund with shares held by Brookfield (82,35%) and Itaúsa (7,65%). The Brazilian state-owned company has already announced that it intends to gradually exit the fuel transport and distribution market.

The person responsible for the works

The company is preparing for the future expansion of the network and attracting new customers in addition to Petrobras, today NTS is responsible for a network of more than 2000 km of gas pipelines that connect the states of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and São Paulo ( responsible for 50% of gas consumption in Brazil) to the Brazil-Bolivia gas pipeline, LNG terminals and gas processing plants.

The NTS pipelines connect the most industrialized region in Brazil and distribute 158,2 million m³ of gas per day and its control was sold by Petrobras, for more than 5 billion dollars, to Brookfield, in April 2017.
