Tenenge completes construction of the Gás Sul Terminal in Santa Catarina, enabling a greater supply of liquefied natural gas for industries and the local population.
Tenenge recently completed construction of the Gás Sul Terminal, a landmark in Babitonga Bay, in Santa Catarina. With the completion of commissioning and performance testing, the Gás Sul Terminal is ready to operate, ensuring a greater supply of liquefied natural gas for both industries and consumers. residents of the region.
This new Terminal represents a significant advance in the local energy infrastructure. The work of Tenenge, an OEC company specializing in industrial works, was crucial to the completion of this project. Furthermore, the Gás Sul Terminal, also known as TGS, promises to boost the regional economy. The increase in the supply of liquefied natural gas brings development and efficiency to several sectors. Ultimately, the Terminal is expected to become a reference in the energy sector in Santa Catarina.
With the completion of the work, the terminal operation was definitively transferred to New Fortress Energy, which is the owner of Terminal Gás Sul (TGS). According to Marco Aurélio Barros, Contract Director at Tenenge and responsible for the project, this is a project that opens a new era for the Santa Catarina economy, enabling a greater supply of natural gas for industries and the population in general.

Gás Sul Terminal and the Benefits for Santa Catarina
'We delivered this work to a high-level client, which brings immediate benefits to the population of the state of Santa Catarina. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in such a relevant and challenging project', says Barros. The completion of the Gás Sul Terminal allows the supply of up to 15 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, which means an increase of more than three times in relation to the total previously available in the state of Santa Catarina. Located 300 meters from the coast of the city of São Francisco do Sul, the Gás Sul Terminal has an infrastructure capable of receiving and storing liquefied natural gas (LNG), regasify and distribute.
TGS Infrastructure and the Gas Transport System
The gas arrives at the terminal by sea through methane ships, being transferred via the ship to ship system to the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Energos Winter, already docked at the Terminal. The TGS's storage capacity is 160 thousand cubic meters of LNG. Additionally, the Gás Sul Terminal is connected to GASBOL (Bolivia-Brazil Gas Pipeline) through 33 km of 20-inch pipelines, allowing the distribution of natural gas to several municipalities in the southern region of Brazil.
