BYD announces billion-dollar investment in Brazil: Car factory and delivery of vehicle to President Lula

According to the AutoEsporte website, in a memorable meeting at Palácio da Alvorada, BYD and former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva consolidated a partnership that promises to redefine the panorama of the automotive industry in Brazil. 

The announcement of the imminent start of works at the factory in Camaçari, Bahia, and the delivery of a Tan electric SUV, valued at R$529.890, for use by the Presidency of the Republic, signal an exciting phase of innovation and sustainability.

The next few weeks will mark an epic chapter in the history of BYD in Brazil. With a significant investment of R$3 billion, the Chinese manufacturer is about to begin construction of a factory in Camaçari, Bahia. This ambitious venture, with an initial capacity to produce 150 cars per year, represents BYD's first foray into automobile manufacturing outside of Asia. Furthermore, the initiative promises to create 10 thousand direct and indirect jobs, reaffirming BYD's commitment to Brazilian economic growth.
