The Port of Navegantes received on Monday (14/11) am vessel over 347 meters long and 45,2 meters wide, was the largest vessel in history to dock at the terminal! The giant APL Yangshan, owned by CMA CGM, originates in Asia and has the capacity to transport 10.800 TEUs (unit representing a 20-foot container)!
To give you an idea, the length of the ship is equivalent to 73 Ferraris, three Maracanã stadiums or nine statues of Christ the Redeemer!

After undocking, the ship goes through Brazil and has one more andscala confirmed in February 2023.
Evolution Basin needs work for larger ships
Porto de Navegantes has the capacity to maneuver ships up to 350 meters long and 51 meters wide.
For the arrival of larger ships, it is necessary to expand the capacity of the Evolution Basin of the Port Complex of Itajaí and Navegantes.
So that, in the future, the capacity of these ports will expand to receive vessels up to 400 meters long and 59 meters wide.
