How do vacancies for free UFRGS courses work?
The vacancies for the Geography course are distributed in regional centers in the cities of Encantado, Picada Café, Santana do Livramento, Sapucaia do Sul and Seberi. The Cooperativism course has vacancies in Imbé, Picada Café and Porto Alegre. Therefore, even though it is online, students will have in-person support at these centers for activities that require more direct interaction.

UFRGS Entrance Exam 2025
In addition to the free online undergraduate courses, UFRGS is also accepting applications for the 2025 Entrance Exam, which offers 4.023 places in 97 different courses. The deadline for applications is September 23, and the exams will take place on November 30 and December 1 in several cities, including Porto Alegre, Canoas and Novo Hamburgo.
In this edition, there were some important changes to the entrance exam. Now, the reservation of places for the Quota Program includes quilombola people, and the income criterion was adjusted to a national minimum wage per capita (R$1.412,00).
The tests will be divided into two days. On the first day, candidates will write an essay and answer 15 questions on Portuguese, Literature, History, Geography and Mathematics. On the second day, there will be 15 questions on Modern Foreign Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In other words, it is a very complete selection!
